Terms of Use

By downloading, installing or using the Anonymize my ID app, or by using this website, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or website.

1. The service

Anonymize my ID is a tool that lets you obscure (redact) and watermark images of identity documents on your own device. It does not verify, authenticate or certify documents, and it does not transmit your documents anywhere.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use the app only with documents you are lawfully entitled to process, and only for legitimate purposes such as protecting your own sensitive information before sharing a copy. You must not use the app to create, alter or facilitate forged, fraudulent or misleading documents, or for any unlawful purpose. You are solely responsible for how you use the app and for any copy you produce or share.

3. Purchases

A free tier is provided with a limited number of anonymizations per installation. An optional one-time in-app purchase (“Pro”) unlocks additional features for the lifetime of the product on your store account. Purchases are processed and may be refunded by Apple or Google under their respective terms; we do not process payments directly.

4. On-device storage (the vault)

The app can keep documents on your device if you switch the vault on; it is off by default. Items you place in it — the redacted copies and, if you choose to keep them, the untouched originals — are encrypted on the device. They are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and we hold no copy, no key and no account associated with them.

Because nothing is uploaded and nothing is backed up by us, there is no recovery. If you forget the PIN or passphrase that unlocks the vault, the stored files cannot be opened again — not by you and not by us. On Android the vault is deliberately excluded from cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so a new or reset device starts with an empty vault. You are responsible for remembering your secret and for keeping any other copies of the documents you need. You can delete individual items, or erase the whole vault, at any time from within the app.

5. Intellectual property

The app, this website, their designs, text, graphics and code are owned by NEXO APEX S.L. or its licensors and are protected by intellectual and industrial property laws. The bundled sample/specimen images are used under their respective open licences, attributed within the app. You may not reproduce, distribute or exploit our materials without prior written authorisation.

6. No warranty; limitation of liability

The app and website are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. You are responsible for reviewing each anonymized copy before sharing it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, NEXO APEX S.L. shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app or website.

7. Changes

We may modify the app, the website or these terms; the current version is the one published here. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

8. Applicable law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute shall be submitted to the courts of the user’s domicile or the place of performance of the obligation, as applicable.
